Our Focus
At Zenith Bank, 'giving back' to the society is a critical aspect of our corporate culture.
This is why "Zenith Philanthropy" Department was set up about 7 years ago. Today, Zenith Philanthropy is a full fledged, registered corporate social responsibility organ through which the Bank reaches out to meet the socio-economic needs of our host communities. Up to 3% of our annual profit goes into meeting these needs every year.
At Zenith Philanthropy, our major areas of focus include healthcare, education, youth empowerment, and public infrastructure development.
 |
Health |
Under our health initiative, children with life-threatening ailments benefit from sponsored medical trips abroad for treatment where necessary, while others are treated in Nigeria where the required medical facilities are available locally. Some adults with special medical needs also benefit from this initiative. |
| In addition, we have over the years given financial support to public hospitals for the purpose of infrastructure development and procurement of medical facilities. |

Education |
Under education, Zenith Bank offers scholarship and training to exceptionally brilliant students in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions whose education might be cut short due to lack of funds. We have on our scholarship scheme, children of some Nigerians who lost their lives under unusual circumstances. These children enjoy full scholarship from primary to tertiary level. |
To encourage academic excellence at this time of dwindling education standards, Zenith Bank in 1997 introduced the annual offer of cash awards and automatic employment to the best graduating students in some departments of Nigerian universities.
Zenith Bank takes up the responsibility of renovating, rebuilding and equipping public schools in parts of the country. |

Youth Empowerment |
Our youth empowerment initiative focuses mainly on ICT development of Nigerian youths. The Bank has donated fully equipped, ultra modern ICT Centres to several universities in the country, including the University of Lagos, the Lagos State University, Covenant University, Yaba College of Technology, among others. Construction work is currently ongoing in some other universities. The objective of this scheme is to equip our youths to compete favourably with their counterparts studying in the developed countries of the world. |
Also under our youth empowerment programme, Zenith Philanthropy has on annual basis donated laptops, Personal Digital Assistant (PDAs), and other ICT tools to students and youths who, otherwise could not afford to buy such tools for their self development. This is one of the highlights of our annual Youth Empowerment for Digital Revolution programme initiated by the Bank as part of the CTO fair which is organized by the US Commercial Services Department. |
Public schools across the country also receive donations of computers from the Bank. About 30 public secondary schools in the Federal Capital territory, Abuja, recently received over 600 PCs from the Bank as part of our efforts at helping students and teachers in public schools to bridge the digital divide'. |
We also have a scheme through which we challenge our youths and help them explore the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation by sponsoring winning business ideas and helping them to blossom. |

 |
Public Infrastructure |
Zenith Bank remains in the forefront of supporting government to develop much needed public infrastructure. The Bank for example recently took up the responsibility of reconstructing the hitherto impassable Ajose Adeogun Street in Victoria Island, Lagos, which today stands out as one of the best roads in the country.
Other roads in other parts of the country have also been short-listed to benefit from this scheme |
